Biography

I am a native son of East Tennessee having attended Carter High School and graduating from Tusculum College with a B.S. degree in business administration.

I bring a wealth of experience to the table with a broad background in management and public service.  My business background includes being an owner/operator of a radio network in Nashville, chief financial officer of a furniture manufacturing company in Morristown, and the past 17 years at St. Mary's Medical Center (now Mercy Health System).   While at St. Mary's I worked as a physician recruiter, director of marketing and public relations, director of economic development, and director of government relations.  St. Mary's placed me as executive on loan to Knoxville College where I was Vice President of Finance and Administration for 12 months.  After retiring from Mercy System in October of 2009 I have been contracting with Ackermann Public Relations recruiting new business development.
